This D-shaped ring is a very versatile piece because it can be worn in many different piercings. A D-shaped ring is halfway between a straight barbell and a regular hoop. However, this doesn't mean that it can be used wherever a straight barbell is used. For example, it can't be worn in tongue piercings. In turn, it suits nipple and septum piercings perfectly. It also fits eyebrow and ear piercings.

As you can see, it's a simple ring made of a single metal piece, so it doesn't come with any extra part that can get lost or dropped down the sink. 

You may be wondering, how does it work then? It's easy. As you can see in the picture, the ring has a small opening at one angle. You mustn't pull the sides apart, but twist them in opposite directions. Thus, you won't damage the tension, and the ring will return to its original shape.
