If you buy this ball, you will get a surgical steel ball that has been sandblasted to give the ball a softly irregular surface. The surface has a diamond look, as it reflects the light as much as diamonds. You can use this ball in a captive bead ring. It's not threaded, so it cannot be screwed into a bar. Instead, the ball has two dimpled indentations that a ring can fit into. The tension of the ring holds the ball between the ends.

The balls are available in a variety of colors and sizes. You can either select the same size as the ball you're currently using, or you can measure the distance between the ends of your captive bead ring. Then choose a ball that is smaller so that it's held in tension.

You can choose a golden ball for a gold color ring, or you can try to mix colors. A silver color ball goes well with a golden ring - but only your imagination sets the limits.
