I use this as a nose ring and it fits very well. The only downside is that where the hinge sits, it's a bit bulky. If the hinge goes right into the nostril, it can feel uncomfortable and irritating.

I bought a black 1.2 mm / 8 mm ring for my septum. I wanted to use it before and after work, so it needed to be easy to put in and take out. After I expanded the ring a bit with a ballpoint pen, I opened and closed it 10+ times (without having it in) and it became much easier. After three days of opening and closing it twice a day (with my fingers, but I had jewelry pliers just in case), it is now SO easy to handle. It is easy to open with my fingers and clicks right back in. A really good everyday ring.

I bought this ring in 8mm x 1.2 for my septum. It fits just as it should! If you want it to sit closely against the skin on your nose, you should choose 6mm. However, I think my nose has become a bit sore after having it in; I don't know if the hinge might be irritating a little. The ring was a bit difficult to open; I used pliers, but it was easy to close. Other than that, a super beautiful ring!
