This ring features a fixed ball. That means that you can't take the ball off like in a regular captive bead ring. The advantage is that you won't drop the ball down the sink. Besides, it's much easier to insert jewelry with a fixed ball. To open this ring, twist it just like you can see on the upper right side of the picture. Once you slide the ring into the piercing, twist the ends back again. Do not grab the ball when you do this, as the ball may come off if you pull it too hard.
The design of this ring is different from a traditional ring. The bar is twisted and looks like a rope, which gives the wearer a completely different look. As the twists in the band are tight, it doesn't feel sharp to the touch.
