All About Intimate Piercings
If you want an intimate piercing but don't want to experience severe pain, the Lorum piercing might be the ideal choice. This piercing is placed horizontally at the base of the penis, where the penis meets the scrotum.
The Lorum is one of the least painful intimate piercings along with the Frenum and Hafada.
When getting your Lorum piercing, it is normal to start with a thread thickness of at least 1.6 mm. Rings, horseshoes, and straight barbells are often chosen as the starter piece.
Straight barbells are usually more comfortable as they cannot get "stuck" like a ring might. Over time, you may also choose to stretch your Lorum piercing and use large piercing jewelry.
The name lorum comes from the words "low frenum," and it refers to its location. A Frenum piercing is also placed on the penis’ underside but at its tip.
Unlike a Frenum, a Lorum is not a particularly stimulating piercing. So don't expect extra sexual pleasure from a Lorum intimate piercing; it's “only” aesthetic.
A Lorum generally heals quite easily, but it is still a vulnerable piercing. Intimate piercings tend to be in a "moving" area and in an area that is hot and humid.
Therefore, it is vital that your hygiene is top-notch throughout the healing period.
