Found a pair you like? A few small details are worth checking before you add them to your cart. Think about the size, style, material, and how you actually plan to wear them. Because gorgeous jewelry that never leaves the drawer isn't exactly doing its job.

Check the gauge or thickness, of the post to make sure it works with your existing piercing. For hoops and huggies, look at the diameter to see how closely they'll sit to your ear. And if you're planning to wear them all day, think about the weight too, especially if you're adding them to an existing stack.

Not sure about sizing? Totally normal. If you're between sizes or shopping for a newer piercing, ask your piercer before switching your jewelry.

Keeping your earrings looking good

Earrings pick up oils, dust, and the occasional bit of skincare over time. Give your jewelry a wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing it, and follow the care instructions for the material. Make sure it’s fully dry before putting it away, and keep your pairs separated so they don’t end up scratching each other.

Caring for your piercing itself is a separate thing. Follow the aftercare routine your piercer gave you, keep your hands clean before touching your ears, and avoid changing jewelry in a piercing that hasn’t fully healed. If something doesn’t feel right, check with a professional.
