Nostril piercings might have been the biggest trend of the 90s but they’ve made a comeback in the last couple of years. As a single piercing, or as part of an arrangement, they’re back and they are here to stay! There are many different variations of this piercing. It can be a classic placement, in the middle of the nostril, it could be a high nostril piercing or a double nostril piercing. The type of jewelry you can wear is very broad. We differentiate between many jewelry styles when it comes to this piercing. We have the screw, the stud, the L-shaped stud, and the fishtail. The fishtail is customizable - you can shape it however you want to. Rings and hoops are also a popular choice, worn alone, or in a pair in the double nostril piercing.
At Bodymod we have a vast collection of designs, such as these:
Nostril piercings are for everyone, however, you have to prepare yourself that they’re not the easiest to heal. It’s a general rule not to touch your piercing during the healing process, but with this one, it’s almost impossible. Because of the placement, you should pay special attention to clean the area properly, as bacteria can get trapped in the hole, causing irritation or even infections. Use our Saline Solution or make your own one by mixing warm water and salt without iodine, and apply it with a Q-Tip to the inside of your nose, and the outside. Do this a couple of times a day. Your piercer will give you directions on how to clean your fresh nose piercing properly. Make sure to always follow these instructions to avoid infection. The healing time of this piercing is between 4 to 6 months. By following the appropriate aftercare routine, you will be able to change the starter jewelry in 6 months.
Don’t let the above information discourage you from getting a nostril piercing. With proper aftercare, you should be able to heal it well, and enjoy it for the rest of your life!
