Extension post for dermal anchor

Having an extension in your dermal anchor is a great advantage. There may be many different reasons for wanting to prolong the distance between the dermal top and the skin. Perhaps your piercing is recent and is still slightly swollen and, therefore, it is a little more painful to have a top pressing against your skin. Swelling may not be your case, but it’s still a good idea to give your piercing some air and space until it completes the healing process.

This extension post is made of surgical steel, which does not rust or spoil over time and is also designed with an internal thread to be easily screwed into your dermal anchor.  The piece measures approx. 5/32" (4 mm) in total from one end to the other, but half the length disappears when screwed in the desired place. This will create about 1/6" (2 mm) of air between the skin and the dermal top once you screw it to the extension.
